Came across a white bittergourd at NTUC… Decided to buy it and try cooking it!
Did a bit of googling to find a recipe. Finally decided on a few and did a little mix n match to get this:
1 white bittergourd
1 spring chicken, cleaned and quartered
6 red dates
1 tsp wolfberries
1 tsp small dried scallops
1 carrot, cut into bite-sized pieces
20 cubes of canned pineapple
Here’s the end result!
The soup was delicious!:) There was barely any trace of bitterness in the gourd…
Will definitely buy this if it ever appears again at NTUC!
